In November 1943 there was some concern in cetain Luftwaffe circles that the speed of the Ju88 C-6 and Ju88 R01 was insufficient to combat the civil Mosquitoes which were flying between Scotland and Sweden. The Staffelkapitän of 10..NJG3, Oblt. Hans-Hermann Müller. whoase Staffel was then based at Aalborg-West in Denmark, decided to employ the FW190. But an appeal for a loan of such an aircraft from a neighbouring unit 10./JG11 at Aalborg East was refused. Müller then appealed to 2.Jagddivision and was provided with one FW190 A-5 which was assigned the code D5+XV. IN December, 10./JG11 was ordered to loan Müller two FW190 A-4s, which were subsequently coded D5+YV and D5+ZV and while in charge of 10./NJG3 the FW190 detachment was known as NachtjagdKommando 190. However trials with the single-seat FW190s did not result in the expected successes and the A-4s were returned to JG11 in February. The A-5 was also eventually returned to 2.Jagddivision in March.

Bonjour Huub,

I have downloaded this new texture. wonderful. A great art work. Bravo

It is a pleasure to fly the CH Fw190A-5. The chalenge for me is to learn how to correctly pilot the Fw190A-5 which does not have a vertical speed indicator. Have you some advice to help me to maintain a level flight in the absence of a vertical speed indicator?

Have a good day

Benoit

Hallo Benoit, un bon jour pour vous aussi,

Normally I use the artificial horizon and altimeter to check my vertical movement. Although I have two buttons on my joystick programmed to trim pitch, I always use the button in the left hand console as this is far more accurate.

Good luck,
Huub
