Service Pack 2 released

Post by Mathias Pommerien »

Service Pack 2 includes improvements and new features as well as some bug fixes.

- New simconnect module fixes occasional crash on exit issues some users experienced.
- Default Bendix 2d popup radio replaced with a new Becker radio that matches the virtual cockpit's visuals and functions.
- Added an ADF radio to the IFR cockpit.
- Added a cold and dark switch to the manager interface.
- Minor programming updates to the payload manager interface in order to improve interaction with the mouse.
- Magnetic compass now rolls and banks.
- Multiple background programming updates in order to improve performance and stability and to fix certain event flooding issues.
- Updated user manual.

This update requires the Bf 108 at version 1.1/Service Pack 1 to be installed on your computer. Older versions are not supported.

To download the service pack click on "Start/All Programs/Classics Hangar/Bf 108 Taifun/check for updates".

If you allready added third party repaints to your Bf108, please back up your corresponding FLTSIM entries and re-insert them after the service pack installation.

Matthias, then I try to install this I get an error message saying that the interior MDL file in the model directory is of "unknown version" - even after I installed the original airplane afresh.
What to do?
Cheers, Daniel

Hello Daniel,

assumed you did not hex-edit the mdl (for whatever reason) you most likely have an outdated version installed rather than the latest fullpack version 1.1 with SP 1.

To check what version is installed on your PC open

FSX Root\Classics Hangar\Bf108\revision.txt

If this file shows you Version 1.0e or something older or if it's not present at all you have an old version installed.

If you purchased at the Classics Hangar Shop or at Simmarket you should be able to just re-download the latest version.
Next make a full reinstall and finally apply SP 2.

If you purchased at FS Pilot Shop check wether your download link is still active.
If not please get back in touch with me.

Matthias, thanks for the quick reply - cleared up now: I didn't realize there were different patch versions for de and en.

Going to try this out later today, thanks again!

Hello. I have the same problem, although I have the latest version, 1.2, installed and listed in the revision text file.

Here are the entries in that file above the 1.0e entry:
V 1.2 2012-12-24
- adressed key event flooding to reduce overhead and to improve multiplayer usability.

Service Pack 1 2011-10-12
- added passenger and seatbelt visuals, controlloable using a payload manager (passengers only visible in exterior view).
- realtime aircraft manager interface added including fuel and payload manager, misc action controller and cold weather preheater (including visuals).
- minor texture improvements.
- Ampere meter now displays the correct negative current when the generator is off.

Gryphos, 1.2 was never publically released, it was our interims version when you and I worked on the key event flooding issues, remember?
Uninstall the current version, reinstall version 1.1 (the latest available fullpack) and finally apply SP 2.
