Late Fw190A external models

Post by Mathias Pommerien »

Let's start with this one. These are entirely unedited shots, no color correction, no sharpening, no nothing.
The texturing is yet to receive some finishing touches.
Can you guess the sub version?

That's the A-7/R2 (the pitot tube isn't on the wing yet, but the gun is moved forwards) , but it looks like the bump under the cowling is missing?

In all the photos I have for the FW190, I see a small bump under the cowling right where it starts to curve into the prop, although less than 1/30th of FW190's were of the A7 type, so it may have been taken out in that variant.

Yep, it's an A-7/R2, but what do you mean by "guns moved fore"?.

You mean that little bulge under the nacelle aft of the oil cooler ring?
Hmm, thought it was too small a feature to model it.
Might add it, thanks for the suggestion.
BTW, what a funny screen name.

Well, it took a while, but it finally happened.

And by "Guns moved forward", I meant that between the A-6 and the A-7, the Maschinengewehr is further away from the canopy.

Naa, not really, took them until the MkIV to pass by the A but that was when the Dora was the current fighter (well, almost).

As for the nose gun, same location, different gun, Mg17 replaced by Mg131

Whoops, guess you're right, I was going by the placement of the guns apogee.

You all had the Dora... till the XIV came along!

It's the oil dump valve cover.
On all A, F and Gs from the A-1 onwards.
