Fw190 flight modelling

Post by Mathias Pommerien »

Just a little something to demonstrate how good the AvHistory Fw190 flight modelling actually is.
Watch the videos of the Stang and reproduce that in FSX with your Fw190.

Good take off video

The technique will work with most warbirds to keep you in control during takeoff. Notice he slowly advances the throttle to 40" and waits until hitting 50mph before increasing it to 60".

Also on the pullup you can just see a slight touch of P-Factor yawing the nose.

Also note the reduction in power for climb.

Here's another. The stang again.

Initially he demonstrates the drag bucket thanks to the laminar flow wing.

He then uses a turn to increase drag and slow the aircraft down.

When they are slowed down notice the comment on how heavy the controls are when they are out of trim.

Also note the use of rudder to roll the aircraft instead of aileron at low speeds.

Last note how even a gentle stall break can cause a visit of the upchuck express for those not used to less than 1g
