yes, i have to pin the throttle then bring it back down, once i do that the manifold springs back to whatever setting i have my throttle at, and the sound corresponds.

*UPDATE* I tried several planes, some freeware, some very popular payware (not sure if you want them listed) Everything from old props, turboprops, jets, airliners and i cannot duplicate this issue on any of them. I wish i knew more about the development process so i could give some insight but i just know how to buy them and fly them :)

Sorry to resurrect this topic Mathias. I have this same sound problem, and I'm on Vista 64-bit. It really sucks on long final when I switch views, then go back to internal view and it sounds like the engine is at full song. Having to throttle up, then back down sucks when trying to slowly bleed speed for landing.

This only happens with the Fw190. I have a TON of freeware and payware planes, and NONE of them exhibit this same error. It'd a be a great fix if you can figure it out.

I love the Wurger, and fixing this would make it perfect. Thanks Mathias!

Hi Chunk,

please do me a favour and try out the attachement.
It's a revised sound.cfg file and a missing wav file.
http://www.classics-hangar.de/downloads ... _Patch.zip

It should be unzipped to

(early variants)
FSX Root\SimObjects\Airplanes\Classics_Hangar_Fw190A-1\Sound

and/or

(late variants)
FSX Root\SimObjects\Airplanes\Classics_Hangar_Fw190A-5\Sound

Backup the original sound.cfg file first in case it doesn't work as intended.
Please let me know if it fixes the issue for you.
Thanks!

Thanks Mathias!

In very limited testing so far, this fix seems to work. I cycled through all the views, and the engine sound stayed where it should.

So far, so good.

Thanks!!!

Hello Mathias,

After some further testing, the problem has come back. it only happens when going from cockpit view, with the throttle cut, to an outside view, then back into the cockpit.

The manifold pressure reads correctly now, but the sound of the engine does not correspond. By throttling up, then back down, it corrects the issue; just as before.

Let me know if I can do anything to help in testing.

Ok, thanks Chunck.

I *think* I found the offending bit.
One of the exterior engine sound files was compressed with a non standard codec.
I'll do some further testing and probably upload another patch sometime tomorrow (Saturday).

No luck with it, still the occasional hangup.

I wish I was good at this stuff, so I could help you Mathias. It's a very odd bug, but in the end, extremely minor.
