Re: Messerschmitt Bf110 C and E
Well that would be very nice of you. By the way, our early radar om the SB2C had two scopes one for azimth and the other for elevation. Distance was a matter of interpretation. When the two points converged, you had collided with the target. Did the Luftwaffe had a similar setup? Just another duty t...

Re: So what would you like to see next from us?
Just to be contrary, I sure would like to see a He-111 or a Stuka. The Me-109 is getting as commonplace as the P-51. Let's have something completely different for a change.

NJG Squadron Markings
Some interesting excepts from a letter I received from Rudi Thun dated June, 1979. Rudi served as Squadron Commander of NJG 9, flying Me-110. “ Your questions regarding the Night Fighter markings embarrasses me. If I remember correctly, the last letter stood for the squadron number as follows: A – W...

Re: little delay
I can understand the occasional delay. But at my age I wonder if I'll still be around to fly her. By the way, have you got a price on the airplane yet? This is one that I have been certainly looking forward to. As our cowboys would say, "I'm chomping at the bit!"

Re: Fw 190 Pilots Manual
I was taken aback when you published the Handbuch for the FW 190. About 40 years ago I was going through the Raytheon-Weyland's Library when I ran into the same Handbuch. Exactly the same. I took the book and ambitiously decided to translate it into English using a German-English dictionary. But whe...

I tried getting a hold of Peter Spoden about a year ago and just recently without any answer. I told him about my relationship with Rudi. I don't know if he's sick or passed on. It happens to us old guys you know.

Re: Fw190 cockpit W.I.P. preview
It's interesting that you say that about weathering. I know that in the U.S. Navy there were always people around to touch up scratches. Mostly because of corrosion resistance. That's why I take issue with WWII Navy planes showing all kinds of wear and tear. It never happened. The leading Chief woul...
